Get the Lead Out

Clinicians play a key role in preventing lead risk, identifying and treating lead poisoning, sharing data about lead poisoning cases and advocating for public health measures to address the problem.

Preventing, treating and tracking childhood lead poisoning takes teamwork. Effective teams may include members with expertise in nursing, medicine, social work, nutrition, child development and environmental health.
